MACINTOSH SETUP   (ConfigPPP)

This document assumes you have already installed your modem
according to the manufacturer's instructions.



STEP 1: System Requirements

These instructions only apply to Macintosh OS 7.0 or OLDER. If you have a newer version of Macintosh OS,
click here.

Locate the Folder labeled "Pre-OS7 Put In System Folder" on the provided diskette.
Drag it onto the System Folder.

You must reboot the computer before you continue.



STEP 2: Configuration of MacTCP

Open the MacTCP Control Panel.
Click the "PPP" icon once to highlight it.


Now click the "More" button.




Under the "Domain Name Server Information" section, type   adm.internet-frontier.net   in the Domain box, and type   66.81.101.2   in the IP Address box. Check the "Default" radio button is checked on this line. On the second line, type   dns.internet-frontier.net   in the Domain box and type   66.81.101.9   in the IP Address box.

In the "Obtain Address" section, make sure the "Server" radio button is checked.
The rest of the information will be filled in automatically when you dial in.



STEP 3: Configuration of MacPPP

Open the ConfigPPP Control Panel.


Click "New" and enter
"Internet Frontier", then click "OK".
Click "Config" to continue.



The Port Speed should be 38400

Flow Control should be set to NONE.

Enter the dial-in number local to you.
ATZ   should work for the Modem Init.

Click "Authentication" and enter your login and password in the appropriate boxes.
Click "Done" to exit this menu.

Try it out by clicking the "Open" button on the ConfigPPP Control Panel.
