Outlook Express

Step 1.  Open Outlook Express and wait for it to load, next locate the pull
down menu that says "Tools" and then find "Accounts"
(in some versions of Outlook, the correct selection may be "Services" rather than "Accounts")

Step 2. Now a New Window pops up with four tabs at the top the first says "All" the second says "News" the third says "Mail" and the fourth says "Directory Service" click on the one that says "Mail" and then click the "Add" Button.  Another popup menu pops up and you need to click the one that says "Mail"

Step 3. A new box will open asking for your Name, enter as little or as much of your name
as your feel comfortable revealing to the people that will receive your email. Then click Next to continue.

Step 4.  Again the popup window has changed and now it is asking for your e-mail address.  Enter your email address in this box.  Your email address is your User Login ID followed directly by "@ifn.net" no space between userid and "@ifn.net"  "Example user@ifn.net"

Step 5.  Now you are faced with a menu that asks for the "Incoming Mail Server" at the top in a pull down menu it will ask for a POP3 or an IMAP server select POP3. In the white box that asks for the Incoming Mail Server type "pop.ifn.net"  Next go to where it asks for the "Outgoing Mail Server" type "smtp.ifn.net" when done click next to continue.

Step 6.  In this next window it is going to ask for your Account name Make sure you enter just the login part not the whole e-mail address for example user not "user@ifn.net" Do not check the button Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)  When your Finished click next.

Step 7.  Enter a name that you would like to call your Account.  We suggest Internet Frontier all though any name will work. When completed with this step click Next to continue.

Step 8.  Here it is asking you how you would like to connect to the mail server.  If you don't know click I will establish my Internet connection manually.  Click Next to continue on.

Step 9.  Congratulations you have completed the set up process.  Click Finish to continue.

Step 10. Click close to finish the complete setup process.   Now you are back to the main screen.  After you are connected to the Internet click send and receive mail to see if you have any new mail.
