Using Netscape 2.0 and Later to Retrieve and Send Email

Netscape can be used to send and retrieve email. Open the "Options" menu in Netscape and choose "Mail and News Preferences". Click the "Servers" tab at the top.




Your outgoing (SMTP) mail server is mail.ifn.net and your incoming (POP3) mail server is mail.ifn.net . Your User Name is provided by Internet Frontier, and it is usually the same as your login name. Enter this name in the "POP3 User Name" box. Your News (NNTP) server is news.ifn.net .

Next, click the "Identity" tab. Enter your email address in the "Email Address" box.
All the other fields are optional.

Finally, click the "Organization" tab. Click the box next to "Remember Mail Password".
Now Click OK at the bottom of the menu box.

The first time your retrieve email, either by clicking on the little envelope in the bottom right-hand corner of Netscape, or by opening the "Window" menu and choosing "Netscape Mail", Netscape will ask you to enter you mail password (same as your login password). If you checked "Remember Mail Password" in the previous step, Netscape will only ask for your password the first time you retrieve your email.
