Overview

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs the use of internet services provided by Inland Fiber Networks (“IFN”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).

All customers and users of IFN’s network must comply with this policy. Use of IFN services constitutes acceptance of this AUP.

The purpose of this policy is to ensure the reliability, integrity, and security of IFN’s network and services for all users.

Prohibited Uses

Customers may not use IFN services for activities that violate laws, interfere with network operations, or harm other users.

Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Illegal Activities

Use of IFN services to engage in illegal activity is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Distribution or possession of illegal content
  • Fraud, identity theft, or financial scams
  • Unauthorized access to systems or networks
  • Distribution of malware or malicious software
  • Violations of copyright or intellectual property laws

IFN will cooperate with law enforcement agencies when required by law.

Network Abuse

Customers may not interfere with or disrupt IFN’s network or the networks of other providers.

Examples include:

  • Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks
  • Port scanning or probing networks without authorization
  • Attempting to bypass network security controls
  • Interfering with network equipment or infrastructure

Spam and Unsolicited Messaging

Customers may not use IFN services to transmit or facilitate the transmission of unsolicited bulk communications (“spam”).

This includes:

  • Bulk unsolicited email
  • Mass messaging systems used for unsolicited advertising
  • Operating systems that relay spam
  • Hosting or distributing spam campaigns

IFN reserves the right to block or filter traffic associated with spam activity.

Security Violations

Customers may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or networks.

Examples include:

  • Password cracking or credential harvesting
  • Exploiting software vulnerabilities
  • Operating phishing or scam infrastructure
  • Hosting malicious command-and-control systems

Abuse of Network Resources

Customers may not use IFN services in a manner that unreasonably consumes or monopolizes network resources.

Examples include:

  • Operating services that generate excessive traffic causing network degradation
  • Running open relays or unsecured proxy servers that enable abuse
  • Conducting large-scale automated scanning that disrupts services

Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for securing their own devices and networks.

This includes:

  • Keeping operating systems and software updated
  • Securing wireless networks
  • Protecting devices from malware or compromise
  • Preventing unauthorized use of their internet connection

Customers are responsible for all activity originating from their service connection.

Network Management

IFN may implement reasonable network management practices to maintain service reliability and security.

These practices may include:

  • Traffic filtering
  • Abuse mitigation
  • Temporary traffic controls during security incidents
  • Blocking malicious or abusive sources of traffic

Such actions are taken to protect the stability and security of the network and other customers.

Enforcement

Violations of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in actions including:

  • Warning notifications
  • Traffic filtering or blocking
  • Temporary suspension of service
  • Termination of service for repeated or serious violations

IFN reserves the right to take immediate action when necessary to protect the network, customers, or comply with legal obligations.

If you believe an IFN customer is violating this policy or engaging in network abuse, please report it to:

Copyright Infringement / DMCA Policy

Inland Fiber Networks respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects customers to do the same.

In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. §512, IFN will respond to properly submitted notices of alleged copyright infringement occurring on our network.

Filing a DMCA Notice

If you believe that copyrighted material has been used in a way that constitutes copyright infringement through IFN services, please submit a written notice containing the following:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  2. Identification of the allegedly infringing material, including sufficient information to allow IFN to locate the material (such as an IP address, timestamp, or URL).
  3. Contact information for the complaining party, including:
  • Name
  • Mailing address
  • Telephone number
  • Email address
  1. A statement that the complaining party has a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  2. A statement that the information in the notification is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  3. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent.

Repeat Infringers

IFN maintains a policy of terminating service for customers who are determined to be repeat copyright infringers when required under applicable law.

Counter Notification

If a customer believes that a DMCA complaint was submitted in error, they may file a counter-notification containing:

  • Identification of the material that was removed or restricted
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was due to mistake or misidentification
  • The customer’s name, address, and contact information
  • A statement consenting to jurisdiction of the appropriate federal court

Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, IFN may restore the material unless the complainant files a legal action.

Policy Updates

IFN may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised Last Updated date.
